Call me old fashioned at 30(ish?) but i just love Elvis aaron Presley, i loved his music, from the 1950's right up to his death in 1977.
It is very fashionable to knock the great man, but if i point out a couple of things, that perhaps you did not know?
Without Elvis, john lennon and Paul Mcartney would not have bought guitars!They grew up with Elvis, particularly John Lennon who learnt many of the early Elvis classics.
Elvis is the single biggest recording artist of all time, he has sold over 1BILLION records!
Amongst artists that often quote him (modern) are...Oasis,Pink floyd,Robbie Williams (he has a tatoo that says "Elvis grant me the serenity...") Texas, Radiohead!
My personal favourite part of the Elvis era was the 68' comeback special, where he played the first televised "un-plugged" session (has to be seen!).
Elvis has played to the largest television audience ever (1.1 billion ) for his live 'Aloha from hawaii' concert) this is more than the moon landings by the way.
